ISO 6487 — measurement techniques in impact tests

ISO 6487 defines the measurement techniques used in impact tests, including the channel filter classes (CFC). Our published seat test equipment states that its recorded data is filtered to the CFC60 class.

Seat system strength test system — 1000 Hz sampling, with data filtering meeting the CFC60 requirement of ISO 6487.

Why the filter class matters: the recorded peak depends on the channel bandwidth, so a strength figure is only comparable when the filter class is stated alongside it.
